Jeffrey Mandume Kerina, M.D., is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He specializes in the treatment of injuries and disorders of the extremities and other associated structures. Dr. Kerina focuses his treatments on the preservation and restoration of the form and function of these areas through both nonsurgical and surgical modalities utilizing the most advanced techniques, including musculoskeletal treatment, partial and total joint replacement, and outpatient arthroplasty.
Born in New York City, Dr. Kerina received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate School of Medicine. He then continued his postgraduate training by completing two fellowships. His first fellowship was in adult reconstructive surgery and total joint replacement surgery at the University of California in San Diego. Dr. Kerina later completed the Adult Spine Surgery Fellowship at the University of Texas, Texas Back Institute in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Kerina has proudly served the orthopaedic needs of Central Florida for 25 years. As a former member of the Credential and Executive Committees as well as chief of the Department of Orthopaedics at Leesburg Regional Medical Center, Dr. Kerina’s record of service to the community is impeccable. His outreach activities include serving as the director/advisor of Operation Success, which is a summer orientation program for incoming medical students. He was also the founder of Health Careers Opportunity Program, a four-year program that exposed disadvantaged high school students to careers in health care.
Dr. Kerina has authored dozens of publications and presents both internationally and nationally on research related to his areas of expertise.
Dr. Kerina resides with his wife and daughter in Mt. Dora.
